Company Philosophy

Ocean Channel Diving Shop was founded in 2015 by a brother-sister duo. The inspiration came when Chen En-ting, the younger brother, studied Marine Sports and Recreation at National Penghu University of Science and Technology, where he developed a passion for diving and earned his CMAS three-star instructor qualification upon graduation.

En-ting's enthusiasm for diving and the ocean inspired his sister, En-chi, who initially had a fear of water and needed a flotation device for swimming. With En-ting's guidance, she overcame her fears and obtained her entry-level diving certification. Together, they manage the shop, with En-ting handling business operations and diving instruction while En-chi focuses on customer relations and support.

Named "Ocean Channel," the shop aims to share their passion for the ocean through diving activities, hoping to introduce more people to the beauty and importance of marine environments. Initially starting without a permanent location, they operated out of a shared space with a snorkeling business. After five years of preparation, they established their own shop along the southern loop of County Road 201 in Penghu Island in May 2020, providing a dedicated space for hosting activities and welcoming guests.

As the head instructor, En-ting Chen graduated from National Penghu University of Science and Technology's Marine Sports and Recreation program, mentored by Taiwan's diving pioneer, Teacher Su Yan, to become a professional diving instructor. He is committed to promoting the internationally recognized CMAS diving system in Taiwan, emphasizing skills and safety. Additionally, the shop collaborates closely with the university's Marine Sports and Recreation program, conducting research on sea slug species and establishing a sea slug research station in Penghu.

Our goals include:

1.Promoting marine safety education and ecological conservation through recreational diving activities.

2.Reducing Taiwanese people's fear of the ocean through safe diving experiences.

3.Helping water-fearing tourists embrace the ocean through comprehensive activity teaching and practice.

4.Continuing to enhance their own diving skills and aspiring to train professional diving instructors as a specialized diving shop.
